Puebla started its participation in the Zona Sur Series with a resounding 13-5 win over Diablos Rojos at the Estadio Alfredo Harp Helú.
The Puebla offense generated 21 hits, with Michael de la Cruz standing out with five hits, in addition to two runs scored and one RBI. He was followed by Herlis Rodríguez with four hits, three runs scored, a home run, and two RBIs.
Puebla opened the scoring early
The first to score were the Puebla team with a two-run single by Luis Castro in the top of the first inning. In the bottom of the same inning, Diablos Rojos tied the game, first with a double by Jon Singleton that drove in Carlos Sepúlveda, and then with another double, this time by Carlos Sepúlveda, who drove in Singleton.

However, in the top of the sixth inning, Puebla scored again with a cluster of three runs, where Rodríguez stood out with a solo home run. With this win, Puebla remains in seventh place in the Liga MX, with 7 points and a record of 2W-1D-1L in 4 games, and is preparing for its next match against Santos Laguna on August 23.
